In the traditional sense the essay is a literary genre, intended to be a linguistic attempt or effort, characterized by a strong individual authorship. What if polyphony takes the place of the singular author instead, striving for form in the essay? What constitutes the particular interest in multiplicity and its potential regarding essyistic formats? How do essay and plurality relate to each other? Within the scope of an exhibition and several evening events, hauptsache gemeinsam (which could be translated as “together, anyway”) presents and investigates production methods and conditions of multiplicity in the context of the essay.
