In her work, Miriam Hamann deals with the question of how our reality is structured in the field of tension between sculpture and installation. What shapes the reality we define and our immediate environment? What systems of order have we imposed on ourselves and what scientific findings bring us closer to an understanding of the world? Against the background of these questions, the artist deals primarily with scientific, physical and technological phenomena. In doing so, she takes up the reference systems that underlie the measuring of the earth or the measurability of time, for example, and reflects on their normativity, abstraction and aesthetic mode of action.
