The edition "INHALEEXHALE" was created parallel to the Memphis Light Box with the same title and consists of a 7" vinyl and one fine art print each: a female voice with a dark, smoky timbre can be heard telling a story about the "kiss of life". The 10 selected kiss scenes of the print series are taken from politics, pop culture and religion. In pastel shades, a disconcerting circular hole adorns the scene, forming an empty space exactly where a kiss had been before.
In her multimedia and text works, Sarah Decristoforo analyses and recontextualises forms of expression, symbolic languages and aesthetics of everyday culture and mass media that speak about political and social power relations, penetrating into intimate, sometimes obscene areas. Sarah Decristoforo studied fine arts at the Art University Linz, where she also lives and works. She has received numerous prizes and awards and her works are shown internationally.
